JAMMU, Jan 31: MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta inaugurated the Sub Junior Jammu District Kabbadi Championship in boys and girls sections in an impressive and well attended function, here today.
He was accompanied by Naresh Pradhan, Senior BJP Leader,  Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, CEO of J&K Kabaddi Association, Sangram Singh Treasurer, Sandeep Singh, Chairman Anti Dope Committee, SS Gill (Observer of the tournament), Dinesh  Gupta Jammu District Secretary, Anil Modi, Organizing Secretary, besides Anil Veer Joint Secretary, Anil Sharma Kabaddi Coach, Ajay Gupta Kabaddi Coach, Anuradha Kabbadi Trainer and Poonam Jamwal Kabaddi Trainer.
General Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association, Surinder Mohan Gupta was also present on the occasion.
The MLA also announced an amount of Rs. 4.98 lakh from his CDF for installation of flood lights and chairs for the Pavilion at Kabaddi Field, MA Stadium, here.
In the matches played on day-1 today,  KV No-1, Gandhi Nagar beat Luthra Academy by 19 points, Govt Model High Secondary School drubbed Sarvodiya Vidyalaya by 32 points, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir got the better of Jagriti Mission School by 23 points, KV No-1 Gandhi Nagar outplayed Sarvodiya Public School by 32 points, Gandhi Nagar Club defeated Guru Nanak Public School by 34 points, Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra beat Gandhi Nagar Club by 8 points, Tiny Tots drubbed KV No-1 Gandhi Nagar (B) by 20 points, Govt Model High School defeated Bishab Bharti High School by 6 points, Govt Higher Secondary School Chakori trounced Janta Model High School by 13 points, Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Simbal Camp outplayed Nand Public School by 20 points, Nowabad Public School defeated Anuradha Public School by 26 points, Tez Public School beat SOS Public School by 4 points, Gandhi  Memorial RS Pura thrashed Luthra Academy School by 18 points and May Fair School trounced Spring Dale Chinore by 19 points.
