Rain, wet outfield play spoilsport

JAMMU, Jan 29: After heavy rains washed out day-2 yesterday, wet outfield played spoilsport on day-3 today in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group-C match between hosts Jammu and Kashmir and Chhattisgarh at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Only 90 overs game was possible on day-1 of the match on January 27, 2020, in which after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Chhattisgarh had scored 270 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Skipper Harpreet Singh Bhatia was the top scorer from Chhattisgarh, scoring 116 runs, while Abhimanyu Chauhan, Amandeep Khare and Jiwanjot Singh contributed 51, unbeaten 45 and 42 runs to the total respectively. For Jammu and Kashmir, Aquib Nabi, skipper Parvez Rasool, Abid Mushtaq and Abdul Samad claimed 1 wicket each.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir is topping Elite Group C with 32 points after six outings, while Odisha, Jharkhand and Haryana are at 2nd, 3rd and 4th spot with 26, 22 and 21 points respectively.
