JAMMU, Oct 5: In a unique initiative, Asia’s toughest Rally ‘Raid The Himalaya’ is being organised from October 8 to 14, 2018 in Jammu and Kashmir.
This was informed by the organisers while addressing media persons, here today.
“With more than 140 drivers and riders taking part in rally, rally will pass through areas including Leh and Kargil. Rally is receiving wide participation as non-local participants are also showing interest in this unique initiative,” said the organisers. With top sponsors like Techno Automobiles Delhi-Sandeep Bansil, Polaris India, Mapmy India Manpreet and Jeep India / National Jeep Jammu (Service) in the rally, the event will be focused to promote youth of the State.
Son of the soil, Taufeeq Mughal of Polaris will be making comeback after achieving podium position in Indian Baja while riding 400sportsman of Polaris. He will now be riding Polaris 570 sportsman.
Among others will be Deepak Sachdava and Japjyot Singh, who have been rallying for last one year and got almost 15-18 podiums in TSD; Rihen, a rider turned driver, has been in this field from 15 years and have proven his metal with 1st time in the history of J&K, a driver from Kargil. Rihen will be accompanied by Ali Akhoon in the gypsy.
