Rahil brings laurels to J&K, wins Bronze medal in Commonwealth Judo C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 10: Rahil Shafi has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir by winning Bronze medals in the ongoing Commonwealth Judo Championship at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
In the championship, 14 countries are participating.
Rahil Shafi and Shafkat Shafi from Kashmir are participating in this championship as coaches and players.
By winning the bronze medals, Rahil brought laurels to country, J&K and also keep the head of his coach Shafkat Shafi up.
While speaking, Rahil Shafi thanked almighty God, his coach Shafkat Shafi, his practice partners and J&K Judo Association. He also thanked his family for their moral support and encouragement.
He said the all credit goes to his coach as it was not possible to win the medal because of injury in the semifinal bout. “It was my coach who motivated me for the next medal bout”, he said and also conveyed his thanks to Tariq Ahmed Chairman Kashmir Harvard Educational institute for his sponsorship.
Shafkat Shafi said that this year was really a lucky year for him because the players under his coaching got 4 National and 1 International medals so far in 2018. “By these achievements more and more students will get attracted towards the game. This is a really good achievement in the international arena of Judo from Kashmir valley. Till now, national medalists and campers were prepared, but this is first ever international medal in the valley, which has been won by Rahil Shafi”, he added.
