POONCH, Mar 18: The final match of the 1st Mufti Mohd Sayeed Memorial Football Tournament was played between Purani Poonch and City Club at BHSS, here today.
Purani Poonch won the match by two goals to nil (2-0). For Purani Poonch, Jatinder scored both the goals in 22nd and 55th minutes of the match.
MLA Poonch, Shah Mohd Tantray was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Narjeet Singh ZPEO, Prem Prakash Luthra retired DYSSO, Nazarat Khan president DFA, Rajeev Tandon, Shashi Bhushan, Pawan Kumar Sharma and Rajinder Singh, general secretary DFA Poonch.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest applauded the efforts of the coaches for grooming young and budding talent of Poonch and for taking initiatives to channelise their energy in right direction for betterment of the society.
The Championship was organized by District Football Association under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
Technical panel of officials comprised of Rajinder Singh, Tarlochan Singh, Rajinder Singh, Kewal Krishan, Mohinder Bali, Jatinder Sharma and Amarjeet Singh.
Vijay Kumar conducted the proceedings of the valedictory function.
