Devotional Song Competition concludes

KATRA, Oct 5: Meenu Atwal of Punjab emerged as best singer of Devotional Song Competition, organized by SMVD Shrine Board in collaboration with Department of J&K Tourism, PTC Punjabi Gold and Patanjali Dantkanti, here today.
The event was co-sponsored by Monalisa Fashion and Wedding Stores, Lia Agarbatti, J&K Bank, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Nideesh Builders Pvt. Ltd. Jammu, Yog Ashram Trust with active support of District Administration and the local host community with 92.7 Big FM as its Radio Partner .
The function concluded amidst chanting of Bhajans, beating of drums and firing of crackers at Yog Ashram Complex, wherein Rajeev Salotra from Jammu took 2nd position and 3rd position was secured by Sukhjinder from Amritsar. A total of seven candidates reached here for the mega final.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi Babila Rakwal was chief guest, whereas noted Bollywood and Media personalities including Managing Director Venus Entertainment and Filmmaker, Ganesh Jain, Filmmaker Gordhan Tanwani, Filmmaker Rishi Raj, Filmmaker & Film Trade analyst Kumar Mohan, Bollywood singers Shanker Sawhney and Amrinder Bobby, vice president Zee Network Barkha Arora, CL Verma and Dr. Surinder were the judges of the mega final.
Director Land Surveys J&K, Bhawani Rakwal, Joint Director Tourism, Sunaina Sharma Mehta, ADC Reasi Abdul Satttar, Addl. SP Katra Amit Bhasin, SDM Katra Angrez Singh and Chairman Devotional Song Committee Rakesh Wazir, gave away prizes to winners.
The chief guest said that this competition has attained good heights and complimented the organizers for the same and thanked all the people and organizations for extending their cooperation in making it a grand success and especially the people from film and media fraternity.
The Joint Director said that the live telecast of the event all over the world has given vast publicity to the event and tourism especially Jammu region. Renowned Bollywood singers Shanker Sawhney, Amrinder Bobby and former winners of the competition Naveen Punjabi and Ravi Kumar also enthralled the audience with their performances as they were special invitees.
Rakesh Wazir compered the proceedings of the programme in a magnificent way.
