Punjab, Haryana complete semifinal line-up of boys jr hockey

New Delhi, May 22:

Punjab and Haryana today registered wins in their respective pool matches to join Jharkhand and Odisha in the semifinals of 4th Hockey Sub- Junior Boy’s National Championship (Division A) in Ranchi.
While Punjab outclassed Maharashtra 8-0 in a Pool C match, Haryana defeated Mizoram 3-1 in a Pool D encounter.
Meanwhile in incosequential matches of the day, Uttar Pradesh eked out a close 6-5 win over Manipur in Pool C while Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Chandigarh Olympic Association 7-2 in Pool D.
Results of the day:
Pool C: Uttar Pradesh 6 Suvran Khandkar (5th, 46th, 55th and 62nd minutes); Abhilash Gupta (43rd) and Arif Mohd (53rd) vs Manipur 5 Ibung Singh (20th), Dhananjoy Singh (50th and 59th), Thoungamba Metei (66th) and Dipu Singh (67th).
Pool C: Hockey Punjab 8 Inderjit Singh (10th); Kawaljit Singh (11th, 46th and 57th); Harmeet Singh (44th); Mehkeet Singh (47th and 65th); Amanpreet Singh (50th) vs Hockey Maharashtra 0. (PTI)
