JAMMU, Dec 20: Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi flagged off a group of 30 girls and four teachers for a week-long Educational Trip to Delhi, Chandigarh and Agra, here today.
The group comprises of five girls from GHSS Mubarak Mandi, six from GHSS Canal Road, four from GHSS Bazar Qasaban, five from GHSS Bhalwal, four from GHSS Satwari, two from GHSS Jourian, one each from GHSS Bishnah, GHS Chowadhi and GHSS Rehal. These girl students were selected on the basis of their outstanding performance in the District Level Display Your Talent Festival held recently in Jammu.
The Trip has been organized under beti Bachao and Beti Padhao Scheme.
The CRPF and Indian Army have extended their cooperation in terms of logistics and transport.
The Minster provided track suits and shoes to each member of the contingent, besides distributing debit cards, containing Rs 3000 as travelling allowance to each student as part of cashless campaign.
Prominent among those who attended the flag off ceremony were Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh; ADDC Jammu Anuradha Gupta; Commandant 160 Bn CRPF, Surender Mehra and District Social Welfare Officer Vipin Bhagat.
