JAMMU, Apr 30: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu organizes Annual Nano Nagle Memorial Inter-Class Debate 2024-2025 here today.
The programme was held in the school auditorium for the students of Classes XI and XII. Neha Bakshi, Under Secretary, Department of School Education was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Dr Jatinder Kour, Associate Professor, GGM Science College, Jammu, Dr Shivani Suri Verma, Assistant Professor in English, GCW Udhampur, Dr Rinky Ahuja, an alumna of school and a dentist by profession were the adjudicators of the event.
The debate was held on the topic, ‘Do Violent Video Games Contribute to Youth Violence’.  The students presented their opinions vociferously and vehemently, both, for and against the motion.
The platform offered an opportunity to students to share their ideas and thus, refine their oratory skills. First position was bagged by Panya Kohli of XI B while Pariyat Gandotra of XII B was judged second and Shreya Raj Thakur of class XI B and Mannat Gupta of class XI D were judged third. Chandanshi Manhas of XII A received consolation prize. Panya Kohli and Shreya Raj Thakur of class XI B were declared the best debate team.
Students of classes XI and XII got an opportunity to participate in a Solo singing competition. They, through their musical renditions, paid a rich tribute to Venerable Nano Nagle, the Founder of the Congregation of Presentation Sisters.  Shradha Aggarwal of class XII A stood First. Tavleen Kour of class XII B and Ananya Salathia of class XII B came second and Yashita Sharma of XI B and Anandini Puri of XII C stood third in the competition.
Chief Guest, Neha Bakshi, lauded the efforts of the participants and appreciated the school for giving an apt platform to students for cross pollination of ideas. The adjudicators also appreciated the young talent and hailed their rhetorical cogency and debating skills.
