JAMMU, May 23: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School organised Peace Club Initiation Ceremony here today.
Peace is a pre-requisite for the healthy development of any society and in order to inculcate this value early in the life of students the Initiation Ceremony was organised.
Sister Dorothy graced the occasion as guest of honour, while faculty members and students were also present.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of lamp, followed by a prayer dance. On the occasion, some senior students shared their experiences as members of Peace Club.
An interactive PPT was shown to the students to make them understand the importance and true meaning of peace.
A cultural programme prepared by the students was highly appreciated by the audience with thundering applauses.
The programme was given a befitting ending with the encouraging words of Sister Dorothy who while speaking highlighted the need for justice and peace.
The newly initiated members were welcomed into the Peace Club by Sister Dorothy.
Sister Dorothy urged the newly initiated members to work as the initiators of peace at each and every given opportunity.
