JAMMU, Feb 27: The 3rd edition of Pt Prem Nath Dogra Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament will be organised by J&K Sports Council from March 2 to 12, 2020. On concluding day of the tournament that is March 12 is the Nirvaan Diwas of son of the soil and would be a fitting tribute to the memory of the great leader, who himself was a good Football player.
This was stated by former MLA Rajesh Gupta while addressing media persons, here today.
He said the objective of this tournament is to encourage sports activity to channelize energy of youth in right direction.
Mr Gupta also advocated for changing the name of Mini Stadium Parade to Pt Prem Nath Dogra Stadium.
He said this demand was raised earlier in the Assembly by him and was agreed upon with unanimous voice.
Mr Gupta, who is chief patron of the tournament said that this year the tournament has received great support from the Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan.
The tournament will be held at the Mini Stadium Parade Ground and the organizers have made almost all arrangements with regard to successful conduct of the tournament.
