JAMMU, Dec 28: Promising middle-order batsman Pranav Gupta slammed power-packed 105 runs off 67 balls to guide National Cricket Club (NCC), Jammu to huge victory over Young Star Jallandhar in the ongoing 4th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Championship at District Sports Stadium, Kathua today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, NCC rode on a magnificent century by Pranav, scored a mammoth total of 204 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing just one wicket in the process. Pranav was at his murderous best and hit the rival bowlers with fluidity and grace.
In reply, Young Star collapsed at 51 runs in 12.3 overs, thus won the match by a huge margin of 153 runs. Pranav was adjudged man of the match for his extraordinary batting display.
Meanwhile, in the second match played today, Maharana Pratap Sports Club, Kurukshetra (MPSCK) defeated JK Police team by 8 wickets in an easy contest.
Winning the toss and batting first, JK Police team bundled out for a paltry total of 93 runs in 18.2 overs.
In reply, MPSCK reached the target in 19 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Neeraj Dahiya of MPSCK was declared man of the match for his fabulous knock of 51 runs off equal number of balls.
