SRINAGAR, June 10: Two matches were played today in the Police Public Cricket Premier League at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium and Kashmir University grounds.
Earlier, in the first match, Mirza Gladiators defeated Al Hamza Super Kings by 6 wickets in the first match played at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium. Al Hamza Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. Al Hamza put up a score of 132 for 4 in 20 overs. Pandeep Singh made 50 runs for Al Hamza Super Kings.
In reply, Mirza Gladiators achieved the target of 133 for 5 in 20 overs with Manzoor Pandov scoring 57 runs.
Manzoor Pandov of Mirza Gladiators was declared as Man of the match and was also awarded for most sixes. Best catch of the match award was achieved by Ahmad Banday of Mirza Gladiators.
The second match between JKP Tigers and Anantnag Kings could not be played due to rain and as per rules each team was awarded one point. The Principal Government Women College MA Road Shaheen Altaf presented the gift cheques among the players at the valedictory function.
At Kashmir University grounds, Simula Super Stars defeated HK Stars by 3 wickets while the second match between Ramhall Lions and TCI Max was disrupted by the rains and each team was awarded a point.
Another match was played between Simula Super Stars and HK Stars. HK Stars won the toss and scored 127 for 9 wickets in 20 overs with Abid Nabi making 47 runs and Majid contributed with 36 runs.
In response Simula Super Stars chased the target of 128 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Raman Datta was the leading scorer who scored 32 runs. He was awarded the Man of the match for his excellent performance. Most sixes award was clinched by Majid and best catch of the match award was bagged by Muzamil of HK Stars.
