Poonch to lock horns with Samba in WKPL finals

JAMMU, June 12: District Poonch team trounced Kishtwar by 28 runs, while Samba defeated Rajouri in the semifinal matches today and sailed into finals of the White Knight Premier League (WKPL). Both the winning teams will now lock horns against each other in the final. The tournament is organised by Army at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, here today.
The final match of the tournament will be played on June 14.
Batting first, Poonch placed 137 runs on the scoreboard, which was not chased by Kishtwar and lost the match by 28 runs. In another match, Samba defeated Rajouri and consolidated its berth in the finals.
Mohd Imran of Poonch and Pankaj Sharma of Samba were declared as man of matches for their outstanding performances and have been awarded by Kavaljeet Singh and Vivek Sharma, former Ranji players with Rs 15000 cash prize each.
