JAMMU, Mar 13: Poonch Royals and Poonch Panthers registered wins and sailed into the next round of the ongoing 1st Edition of Poonch Premier League (PPL) T20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium here today.
In the first match, Poonch Royals beat Poonch Warriors by 45 runs.
Batting first, Poonch Royals scored 164 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Danish and Sikendar were top scorers with 44 and 34 runs respectively.
For Poonch Warriors, Iftikar and Afraz took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Poonch Warriors were all out at 121 runs in 17.4 overs. Murtaza and Afraz scored 36 and 22 runs respectively.
Sakib, Sikendar and Raja took 3 wickets each.
In the second match, Poonch Panthers defeated Poonch Super Kings by 61 runs.
Batting first, Poonch Panthers scored 174 runs by losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Vilas and Jameel scored 33 runs each.
For Poonch Super Kings, Rafiq and Shabbir took 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Poonch Super Kings scored 113 runs thus lost the match by 61 runs. Salim and Shabbir scored 28 and 18 runs respectively.
For Poonch Panthers, Waheed and Prince took 4 and 2 wickets respectively.
Ravi Sharma Deputy Director Planning Department of Youth Services and Sports UT J&K presented man of match awards.
The matches were officiated by Ranjinder Singh Toofan, Istaiq Ahmed Thaki, Vikas Sharma, Navjot Singh and Manzoor Lone.
The Tournament is being organised by Pervaiz Malik Afridi Chairman Ehsaas Foundation Poonch and under the technical supervision of Pawan Kumar.
