Police organizes debate competition on Human Rights

JAMMU, Feb 18: A range level debate competition on Human Rights on the topic, “Respect for Human Rights Contributes to Professionalism in Police” under the overall supervision of Dilbag Singh, IGP Jammu Zone was organized at District Police Lines, here today.
The event was participated by the Constables to DySPs drawn from various districts of Jammu Zone.
The objective of this debate competition was to educate and sensitize all the ranks of the Police force especially at the cutting edge level.
On this issue, the participants spoke on various aspects of Human Rights and its safeguard available and how the law enforcement agencies should adhere to human dignity while performing duties.
DIG Jammu in his welcome address laid emphasis on the human rights and values and in his deliberation advised the participants to generate more awareness regarding human rights and to respect human dignity while dealing the public during the course of performing duties.
The jury comprised of JP Singh, DIG Jammu Range as Chairman and Vijay Kumar, SSP PCR Jammu, Sunil Gupta, Administrative Officer ZPHQ Jammu and Vinay Kumar DySP DAR Jammu as members.
Inspector Davinder Singh/PO Mohd Syed, Constable Pardeep Kumar and PSI Rajinder Khajuria/Ct Rakesh Kumar, PSI Vinod Kumar and PSI Meenu Sharma were declared first, second and third respectively.
The coordinator of this programme, Sunil Kumar Gupta Administrative Officer ZPHQ Jammu presented vote of thanks.
