SAMBA, Oct 28: District police organised debate competition on the topic ‘Drug addiction and how to get rid of this menace’ at District Police Line, here today.
About 26 students of different schools of the district participated in the competition wherein Vandana Kumari of Nav Vidya School Dhlote secured 1st position whereas Angana Sambyal of Adarsh Vidyapeeth Samba bagged 2nd position and 3rd position was clinched by Tamana Devi of BBN High School Vijaypur.
The participants who secured 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions were awarded with cash prizes, trophies & certificates while other participants were also awarded with certificates of appreciation.
SSP, Rajesh Sharma was the chief guest of the event. He appealed the youth to refrain from drug menace and put their best efforts in nation building.
He further said that Samba police was striving hard and taking every possible step to make people aware especially youth about the ill effects of the drugs by organizing such drug awareness programmes. Refreshment was also served to all the guest and participants.
