JAMMU, Feb 10: A Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was conducted by SHO Rakesh Jamwal at the Spartan Gym located in Tange Wali Gali. Around 30 to 35 boys and girls actively participated in the meeting, which aimed to raise awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse, the responsible use of social media, traffic regulations, and the growing issue of cyber frauds.
During the session, SHO Pacca Danga Rakesh Jamwal emphasized the harmful consequences of drug addiction, highlighting how it not only destroys an individual’s physical and mental health but also fuels crime and disrupts the social fabric. He urged the youth to stay away from drugs and encourage their peers to follow the same path. His message was clear: a drug-free society is essential for a prosperous and peaceful future.
In addition to drug abuse, SHO Jamwal addressed the increasing misuse of social media platforms. He explained how improper use of social media can lead to cyber bullying, online scams, and the invasion of privacy. He advised the participants to be mindful of their online presence and to protect their personal information to avoid falling victim to cybercrime. His focus was on encouraging responsible use of these platforms and maintaining digital safety.
Traffic awareness was another key topic of the meeting. Jamwal discussed the importance of adhering to traffic rules, such as wearing helmets, using seat belts, and following traffic signals. He explained how negligence on the roads leads to accidents, often resulting in severe injuries or fatalities. The SHO urged the youth to set an example by following traffic rules and promoting road safety among their families and friends.
Lastly, the growing threat of cyber frauds was discussed in detail. The SHO explained how cyber criminals use various tactics to deceive people, especially the younger generation, and steal personal and financial information. He emphasized the importance of being cautious while using online platforms, especially when engaging in financial transactions or sharing sensitive data.
