Srinagar, June 3: The second Police Martyrs’ Memorial Volleyball tournament was held at Battalion headquarters Reshipora Shopian under Civic Action programme and the event was inaugurated by commandant 18th BN Sanjay Khajuria.
A police spokesman said sixteen teams from District Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam are participating in the tournament.
Khajuria said that these programmes are being organized by police across the Valley to enhance the sports talent among the youth and help bridge the gap between police and public.
He distributed sports items including uniform, shoes, caps etc among all 16 participating teams.
On first day of the tournament three matches were played. The teams from Nugbal, Chitragam and Noorpora won their respective matches.
