Police Martyrs Memorial tournament concludes

SAMBA, May 20: Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament (Under-19), organised by Samba Police under Civic Action Programme (2021-22), concluded at Talli Ground, here today in which Samba Warriors emerged as champions of the tournament.
The tournament was organised in the memory of brave Police martyrs who gave supreme sacrifices of their lives for the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
The final match of the tournament was played between Gurha Slathia and Samba Warriors in which Samba Warriors won the match by 2 wickets.
A total of 12 teams across the Samba district participated in the tournament and all the matches were played in a highly professional manner under the supervision of trained sports persons.
The winners and the runner-up teams were awarded with trophies. Besides this, the winning teams were also awarded with a cricket kit, while umpires and supporting officials were awarded with mementos.
Man of the series trophy award went to Shashi Paul of the winning team.
Earlier, the uniform kits were distributed among the four semi-finalist teams. The event culminated with refreshment to all the guests/participants.
SSP Samba, Dr Abhishek Mahajan congratulated the winning team for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
