SRINAGAR, May 10: Police today concluded the T-20 Cricket Tournament at SP College Ground Srinagar under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-26.
According to the spokesperson, the tournament started on April 4 and witnessed participation from 16 teams representing different areas of Srinagar district. “Team District Police Srinagar won the tournament after defeating Team Kreshbal Strikers in the final match,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the event was organised to provide a platform for young cricketers to showcase their talent, promote sportsmanship and strengthen police-public relations through positive community engagement.
Prizes, medals, trophies and mementos were distributed among the winners and runners-up during the ceremony. The winning team received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, while the runner-up team was awarded a trophy and Rs. 10,000, the spokesperson said.
The “Man of the Series” was also felicitated with a trophy and a cash award for his performance during the tournament, the spokesperson added.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Srinagar, G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, appreciated the enthusiasm and discipline shown by the participating teams and thanked the local community for its support.
