JAMMU, Aug 22: Youth Talent Search Forum kick started its programme for 2014-15 with Inter-School Poem Recitation Competition at Lawrence Public School, Panjtirthi, here.
The inaugural function started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Shakuntla Joshi Founder Principal, Lawrence Public School; Shashi Sharma Principal, Bikram Memorial School; Tejinder Kaur, Rajni Dutta and Kiran Tickoo.
Junior students from 10 reputed schools of Jammu participated in the Inter School Poem Recitation Competition held both in Hindi and English.
The students recited the poems with confidence, excellent pronunciation and narration, making use of the props while competing.
Shakuntla Joshi and Shashi Sharma adjudged the performance of the students and declared the winners of the Competition.
In the English Poem Recitation Competition, Manat from Stephen International School was declared as the 1st, Farah from the same School was declared 2nd, while Alina from Alexander Memorial School, Prince from SD Tarapuri School and Janvi from Police Public School shared the 3rd prize.
In the Hindi Poem Recitation Competition, Meenakshi from New Era School and Atif from JK Montessori were declared as the 1st prize winners, Nandni from Stephens International School and Shubham from Bikram Memorial School were declared 2nd prize winners, whereas Moksh from New Era School and Sarika from Mayur Public School were adjudged 3rd.
