JAMMU, Jan 18: The two–day mega Placement Drive organized by National Skill Development Corporation under Project UDAAN of Govt. of India concluded here today with the visit of Yasha Mudgal, District Development Commissioner Udhampur.
She visited all the corporates and interacted with various candidates, especially girls, appearing for the interviews.
She laid special emphasis on placement of girls in the corporate world and expressed satisfaction over the conduct of driver and asked the NSDC Executive, Bint Abbas to hold another drive in the near future.
“Give us sufficient time for reaching out to all the towns and villages through administrative machinery and other agencies to ensure that all the deserving candidates are examined and given opportunities,” she added.
In this first ever Mega Placement Drive in Udhampur 715 candidates were registered on the spot in addition to those registered online; 1032 appeared for interviews with various companies out of which 511 were given selection certificates on the spot.
107 students appearing for final year of graduation were also allowed to appear but have been kept in the waiting list till they complete graduation.
The corporates invited for the drive included Accenture, IL&FS, Manpower Group Services, Mount Talent, Pinkerton, Prolific Systems, RAXA Securities, Reliance HR Services, Rooman Technologies, Sahej e-Village, Shristi, FHDL (Furure Learning), IISD and Ligare.
Bint Abbas, Komal Koul and Anisha Pandita from National Skill Development Corporation were present during the drive.
Prof Sudhir Singh was the Coordinator of the event, while Prof Sunita Kumari, Prof Romesh Chander, Prof Jawed Sarvar, Arun Gupta, Yogesh Sharma and Devinder Dubey were the organizing members.
