POONCH, Oct 3: Pinto Club and District Coaching Centre, Poonch lifted the men and women titles of the District Volleyball Championship respectively, which concluded at Khari Karmarha Army Ground, here this evening.
Ajit Kumar Sahu, District Development Commissioner Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Earlier, in the men’s section, Pinto Club got better of Manjit Club by two sets to one by (26-28, 25-23, 25-21). Manjit Club won the first set with a narrow margin, but Pinto Club came back strongly to win the next two sets convincingly.
In the women section, District Coaching Centre Poonch drubbed High School Khari Karmarha in two straight sets (2-0) by (25-14, 25-19) and lifted the title.
The matches were officiated by Narinder Singh, Devinder Singh, Ram Parkash and Rajinder Singh, while the tournament was organized by NIS coach Nirdosh Kumar, Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch, the organizing secretary of the tournament.
