JAMMU, Dec 20: Securing 19 points, the Post Graduate Department, University of Jammu bagged overall Championship in the Inter-Collegiate Weight Lifting Championship, which concluded, here today.
The second place went to Commerce College Jammu which scored 12 points in the Championship.
Earlier, in 62 kg, Amit Sharma of PG claimed gold, Avinash of GGM Science College silver and Vinod Singh of Commerce College claimed broze.
Manish Charak of PG bagged gold in 69 kg category, Samarjeet of MAM College got silver, while the bronze went to Sunil Singh Bhau of Commerce College.
In 77 kg, Ashish Gupta of Commerce College, Chander Bhau Singh of MAM College and Harinder Pal Singh of PG Department claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in 85 kg category, gold, silver and bronze went to lucky Pandita of Commerce College, Sunil Kumar of PG Department and Arif Hussain of MAM College respectively.
In 94 kg, Aman Khajuria of PG and Ishfaq Ahmed of MAM College bagged gold and bronze respectively, while in 105 kg category, Pankaj Kumar of PG Department bagged gold.
The matches were officiated by Inspector Daljeet Singh , Dhanraj Singh Slathia, Sunil Sharma , Dyal Singh, Vijay Kumar and Dilip Chib.
