Patriots Cup 50 Over Cricket Tournament gets underway

JAMMU, Apr 20: In the inaugural match of the Patriots Cup 50 Over Cricket Tournament being played at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota here, Bhatia Cricket Academy drubbed Friends Cricket Club in an easy contest today.
Friends Cricket Club chose to bat after winning the toss. They could make a score of 127 in 27 overs. Their batsmen Avinash 53, Rouf 21 Gourav and Ashwani both 13 were the major scorers. The three consecutive top order batsmen were run out thanks to effective fielding by the relatively young side of Bhatia Cricket Academy.
The Bhatia bowlers Rounak, Shubam, Roahan, Ankaj and Sunny were effective in creating pressure on the Friends cricket Club team.
In reply, Bhatia batsmen accomplished the target in 24th over with a stunning knock of 85 runs by Kanav, while Vansh Bhatia made 20 runs. From the Friends side Rocky and Gourav took one wicket each.
The tournament was inaugurated by former Ranji Trophy Player Vivek Sharma who avidly supports the longer version of cricket.
