KATRA, Dec 10: Sixth Annual Bhalwal Kesari Vishal Dangal 2013 a mega and famous Wrestling event was organized by Bhalwal Panchyat Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wresting Association.
Under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Bhalwal Panchyat Raj Dev Singh Jamwal at Government High School Bhalwal in Block Bhalwal of Tehsil and District Jammu.
In the said Vishal Dangal 70 bouts were played wherein local Wrestlers from Doda, Udhampur, Reasi, Jammu, Kathua, J&K Police besides Wrestlers from Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan etc. participated.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prizes among the Wrestlers. He congratulated the Dangal Committee for this impressive feat and said that this will go a long way in encouraging the rural youth toward the traditional sports. Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and president of the Dangal Committee Raj Dev Singh Jamwal honoured the Minister by offering traditional Dogra Turban, Maa ki Chunni and a memento.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function. Ex MLA and Senior Congress leader Shiv Dev Singh and Retd SP Prithvi Raj Sharma were the guests of honour. Retd. Tehsildar Bansi Lal Tidyal, Pawan Shastri, ZEO B L Sharma, BMO Dr Ashok Kumar, AEE Bashir Mohd, BDO Tashir Latifi, Naib Tehsildar Mohd. Majid, AE KK Arora, Sarpanch Babishan Singh, Rehmat Ali, Balbir Singh, Mumtaz Mohd. Amar Nath, Pappu, and Kuldeep Raj were also present on the occasion.
