Pallanwala Club clinches Volleyball trophy

JAMMU, Apr 15: Pallanwala Club clinched the Patyari Volleyball Tournament 2026 title after defeating Khour Club in a thrilling final held at Patyari under the aegis of the Patyari Youth Club.
The final turned into a closely contested match, with Pallanwala Club winning by 2-1 sets. Pallanwala took the opening set by 25-21, while Khour Club bounced back to win the second set by 25-22. In the decisive third set, Pallanwala held their nerve to seal the match by 15-12 and lift the championship trophy.
Around 20 teams from Akhnoor, Pargwal, Jourian, Khour and adjoining areas participated, reflecting growing interest in volleyball in the region. MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Bhagat graced the occasion as chief guest, while Shamsher Singh (ex-Sarpanch) attended as guest of honour. Special guests included Sonia Verma and social activist Atul Sudan. Pallanwala captain Ankush and Khour captain Yuvraj Singh led their respective sides with commendable leadership.
The winning team received Rs 8,000 and a trophy, while runners-up Khour Club received Rs 4,000 and a trophy. Matches were officiated by Sahil, Ritesh, Sahil Chib, Smarty, Amit Singh and Ankush Sharma.
