GULMARG, July 29: Director Vigilance Jammu and Kashmir, S Owais, chairman, Wushu Association of J&K visited Gulmarg and interacted with the National campers, coaches and support staff, here today.
A month-long National Wushu Coaching camp is in progress at Gulmarg for the preparation of Indian Wushu team for the 12th World Wushu Championship at Malaysia,World Games at Cali (Colombia) and World Combat Games at Russia.
S Owais Ahmed thanked Wushu Association of India and Sports Authority of India for bringing famous hill station ‘Gulmarg’ on the National sports map.
Meanwhile, the Wushu Association of J&K conducted Annual General meeting and election of office bearers of Wushu Association of J&K.
The meeting was presided over by S Owais Ahmed, its chairman.
Haji Qayoom Peerzada Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, J&K State Sports Council and Mohd Islamuddin Joint Secretary Wushu Association of India were the observers.
S Owais Ahmed has been elected as chairman, H K Lohia as president, Farooq Amin , Ashiq Banday, Nirdosh Trehan, Deepak Handa, Umar Tramboo, Manjit Singh as patrons. Mozam Bakshi, Ranjeet Kalra, Vijay Saraf and Farman Ali were elected as vice presidents, while Kuldeep Handoo was elected as general secretary.
Nissar Hussain and Ajay Paul Gill will be the joint secretaries for Kashmir and Jammu wings respectively and Abhishek Jain will be treasurer.
Harron Malik, Sajad, Vivek Bassan, Bhavneet, Hafeez, Abhishek, Gourav Choudhary, Ravi Kant, Sajad Parray, Sajad Hussain, and Mukhtyar Ahmed will be the Executive Members.
