Over 100 boys attend hockey trials

JAMMU, Aug 7: Over one hundred boys drawn from the districts of Jammu, Kathua, Poonch, Udhampur, Srinagar and Baramulla attended the hockey trials, being conducted by Hockey J&K, under the banner of Hockey India at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
The 2-day trials are being held to select the J&K team for the forthcoming 2nd Junior National Hockey Championship to be held at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh from September 1 to September 9.
The trials are being held under the overall supervision of Romal Singh, general secretary, Hockey J&K, while the panel of selectors includes Aman Pal Singh, Narinder Singh, Manjeet Singh and Dalbir Mehta.
“After picking the probables tomorrow, Hockey J&K shall hold a coaching camp at the same venue to help the players to polish their skill under the panel of experts,” said Romal Singh.
