Online quiz competition, seminar organised

JAMMU, July 15: Government Degree Colleges (GDCs) organised different online competitions to make aware 6th semester students about new pattern of examination (MCQs) recently announced by University of Jammu.
Government College for Women, Udhampur today observed ‘World Youth Skill Day’ by organising two different events.
The first event was organised on the theme “Show Your Skill” wherein 27 entries were received from the students across the disciplines. The competition was adjudged by Prof Parmjit Singh, Dr Amit Kumar and Prof Rajinder Singh.
Sapna Devi bagged first prize, second prize was shared by Sheetal Sharma and Vidhushi Bamotra whereas, Urvashi bagged third prize by exhibiting different skill during the competition.
An online seminar on ‘Skill Development’ was also conducted in which Kunal Gupta, an alumnus of BITS Pilani & IIM Ahmedabad and owner of Tinker Labs were the guest speakers. Commissioner/Secretary, Higher Education Department J&K, Talat Parvez Rohella and Director Higher Education also joined the seminar and shared their views on skill development.
Earlier, the guests were formally welcomed by Prof Minu Mahajan, Principal of the College whereas, vote of thanks was presented by Mannat Sharma, NSS volunteer of the College and a potential entrepreneur.
Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar organized national level online quiz on “Well-known playwrights of Sanskrit Literature- Mahakavi Bhaas, Kaalidas and Bhavbhiti.”
The event was organised under the guidance of College Principal, Dr Udhey Bhanu whereas Dr Om Parkash, HoD Sanskrit was the convener and the program was coordinated by Assistant Prof, Aditya Sharma.
About 400 participants including students, scholars and researchers from various colleges and universities across the country participated. All participants who secured more than 75 percent marks were awarded with e-certificates. Principal of the College appreciated the efforts of Sanskrit Department for organising such event.
