JAMMU, Dec 13: National Yuva Cooperative Society (NYCS), in collaboration with Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) and in technical assistance with Anglian Medal Hunt Company, is organizing Athletic Meet at Sports Stadium, Kathua on December 17, 2016.
“The objective of holding such events is to search talent and help the country to be ready for Tokyo Olympics 2020,” said State Representative NYCS, Opinder Sharma.
He said that the event will be inaugurated by local MLA and the prizes among the winners will be distributed in the valedictory function by Minister for Forests, Ch Lal Singh.
The event will be held under the supervision of District Representative NYCS, Akshay Bharti.
It is pertinent to mention here that the panel of selectors includes legendary PT Usha, Sriram Singh Shekhawat, Rachita Mistry, Anuradha Biswal and Kavita Raut.
The events are being held across the Country in five zones including North, West, South, East and North-East.
According to the organizers, the eligible candidates for the age group of 11 to 14 years should be born on or between 1-1-2003 to 31-12-2015, while the candidates for the age group of 15 to 17 years should be born on or between 1-1-2000 to 31-12-2002.
The organizers further informed that the athletes will have to pass the dope test before competing in the event.
