JAMMU, July 30: New Star Cricket Club (NSCC) beat Rajiv Sameer Cricket Club (RSCC) by 29 runs while Jelhum Cricket Club (JCC) outplayed Sharda Cricket Club (SCC) by 5 wickets, in two matches played today at KC Sports Club in 1st KPL Pink Cricket Tournament.
The day’s first match was played between NSCC and RSCC. Batting first, NSCC scored 120 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Shishu made 29 runs while Vishal scored 25 runs for the team. For RSCC, Vinod took 3 wickets while Naman scalped 2 wickets.
In reply, RSCC failed to chase the target and scored only 92 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Thus, NSCC won the match by 28 runs. Vishu made 21 runs while Rahul scored 17 runs. For NSCC, Vishal Kant picked up 3 wickets while Amit took 2 wickets. Vishal Kant was declared as man of the match for his all round performance.
The second match was played between Sharda Cricket Club (SCC) and Jelhum Cricket Club (JCC). Batting first, SCC set a target of 138 runs for the opponent by losing 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Sahil made 42 runs while Akash scored 26 runs. For JCC, Vinod Bhat took 2 wickets while Sanjay Koul also scalped 1 wicket.
In reply, JCC easily chased the target in 18.3 overs by losing only 5 wickets and thus won the match by 5 wickets. Vishal made unbeaten 90 runs in just 53 balls whereas Amit scored 30 runs in 23 balls. For SCC, Akash took 2 wickets while Anubhav scalped 1 wicket. Vishal was adjudged as man of the match for his impressive performance with the ball as well as bat.
The matches were officiated by Rakesh and Sunny as umpires while Rehan Rana acted as scorer. The tournament is being organized by Krish Sports & Event.
