SRINAGAR, Dec 24: A student of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Neeleeshwar Kumar has brought laurels to the institute by winning the gold medal in the 120 kg category at the All India Inter NIT Powerlifting Tournament held at NIT Delhi.
Neeleeshwar’s impressive performance against competitors from across the country was guided and supported by Sohail Ahmad Baba (SAS Assistant) and Minhaj Ul Hamid (Trainer).
Congratulating the student, Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia praised the institute’s focus on sports alongside academics. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman, SAS Officer Kowsar Ali Mir and Dr. Manoj Kumar, I/c Faculty SAS, lauded the achievement, highlighting dedication, discipline, and teamwork.
The gold medal reflects the growing sports culture at NIT Srinagar and is expected to inspire other students to excel in powerlifting and other disciplines.
