AKHNOOR, Jan 17: Wrestler Nisar Ahmed of J&K Police from Doda defeated Wrestler Kapil Dhama of Uttar Pradesh of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi to lift the 18th Dhara-Ardhan Dangal title 2020.
The Dangal was organized by Dhara- Ardhan Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Pail (Ardhan) in Mera Mandrian, here.
Dangal was witnessed by a large gathering from Reasi, Pouni, Akhnoor, Jeri and surrounding Villages.
67 bouts were played in a day-long Dangal and an amount of Rs 3,25,000 was distributed in the shape of cash prizes among the winners and runner-up Wrestlers.
The winner of 1st malli bout Wrestler Nisar was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 18,000 by President J&K Indian Style Wrestling association, Shiv Kumar Sharma in presence of Sarpanch Rohit Sharma and Range Officer Surinder Singh (President) of Dangal Committee, while runners-up Wrestler Kapil Dhama got Rs 13,000 by Jatinder Singh, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) and Sarpanch Kawala Singh.
Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the Wrestlers. Sarpanch Rohit Sharma Kawala Singh and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were the guests of honour.
Second Malli bout was won by Gamma of Ludhiana who defeated Wrestler Ammar of Iran. 3rd malli bout was won by Lallu of J&K Police who defeated Babba of Attari and 4th bout was won by Ajay Sharma of Laden Power House (Udhampur) who defeated Manjeet of Delhi.
In women section, one bout was also played between Ansu of Delhi and Prinka of Haryana, which was won by Prinka.
