JAMMU, May 13: The Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji 7-A-Side Night Hockey Tournament 2026 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit at Gole Gujral, Jammu. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by MLA Jammu West Arvind Gupta.
Addressing the gathering, Arvind Gupta lauded the organizers, players and hockey enthusiasts for the successful launch of the tournament. He appreciated Khalsa Club Gole Gujral Jammu for promoting sports and encouraging young talent through such initiatives.
The MLA said that sports not only build physical fitness but also instill discipline, dedication and teamwork among youth. He added that hockey is deeply connected with the spirit of the nation and such tournaments provide a strong platform for budding players to showcase their talent. He further emphasized that sports play a vital role in keeping youth away from drug abuse and strengthening unity and brotherhood in society.
Former Sarpanch Pritpal Singh, Mandal President Anil Angral and Harvinder Singh Vicky also attended the event and appreciated the organizers for successfully conducting the tournament.
The tournament is being organized under the guidance of Organizing Committee members Iqbal Singh, Chief Patron Satvir Singh, President Reen and General Secretary Harkirat Singh along with other members.
