New Siraj Doda beats Andhra, HP thrashes PCC Thathri

DODA, May 15: New Siraj Doda and Himachal Pradesh (HP) registered their wins by beating Andhra Pradesh and Prince Cricket Club (PCC) Thathri, respectively in the ongoing All India 12th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship here at Sports Stadium.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier, in the first match, New Siraj Doda after winning the toss set a target of 167 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 16 overs. Sameer and Shakeel scored 70 and 41 runs, respectively. From Andhra Pradesh, D Manoj and Barath shared 1 wicket each, respectively.
In reply, Andhra Pradesh team could not manage to chase down the target and was bundled out for 66 runs in 14 overs. Venkatesh was the highest scorer who scored 18 runs while Suresh contributed 13 runs for the team. From New Siraj Doda, Mehran and Shakeel shared 3 wickets each.
Later on Shakeel of New Siraj Doda was declared as Man of the Match for his best all round performance.
In the second match, toss was won by Himachal Pradesh team and while batting they set a traget of 149 runs for the loss of all wickets in 13.5 overs. Vinay scored 53 runs while Navneet contributed 40 runs for the team. From PCC Thathri, Vaid took 3 wickets while Adil and Makhnoor shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, batsman of Prince Cricket Club Thathri could not manage to achieve the stipulated target and scored only 144 runs in 18 overs by losing their 9 wickets. Naeem was the highest scorer who scored 19 runs while Makhnoor contributed 18 runs for his team. From Himachal Pradesh, Atul bowled fine bowling and took 4 wickets while Sourav and Sanjay shared 2 wickets each.
Later on Atul of Himachal Pradesh team was declared as Man of the Match for his best bowling performance. He was given prize by chief guest, president, JK Senior Citizen’s Council for Peace and Civil Rights, Abdul Majeed Bichoo.
The match was officiated by Aayush Sharma, Bharat Jajuriya, Munish Zutshi and Noshair Batt as Umpires whereas Rinku Bhaduria acted as Scorer and Ashok Sharma (Video Analyst) as Third Umpire.
