JAMMU, Jan 21: New Challenger Cricket Club defeated Simula Cricket Club by a margin of 47 runs in the ongoing KC Sports Club T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at KC School ground, here.
Earlier, New Challenger Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first.
New Challenger scored a decent total of 149 in 18 overs. Pranav was the top scorer with 50 runs, while Manjeet and Sahil made 26 and 20 runs respectively. Monu was the highest wicket taker for Simula, who took 3 important wickets, whereas Hilal Rather, Shabir, Vicky and Gulzar claimed 1 wicket each.
While chasing the target, Simula Cricket Club collapsed at 112 runs, thus lost the match by 47 runs. Anushman Sharma, Shashi Kumar and Dhruv Mahajan contributed 30, 25 and 23 runs respectively. For New Challenger, Sahil took 3 wickets, while Vijay, Soumay Jain and Ashu took one wicket each.
Pranav Gupta of New Challenger Cricket Club was declared as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Rajinder Singh as umpires.
