JAMMU, May 4: National Cricket Club (NCC), Jammu clinched a thrilling win over New Challenger Cricket Club by 2 runs to advance in the ongoing 2nd Jammu Tawi T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club at M A Stadium, here.
Needing 156 runs to win, New Challenger Cricket Club managed to score 153 runs, despite Hardeep Singh’s brilliant fifty (51), in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus lost the match by just 2 runs. Hardeep scored 51 off 35 balls with 6 boundaries, while Manjeet Singh and Divya contributed 37 and 31 runs to the total respectively. Vijay Dogra and Deepak Singh Manhas bagged 2 wickets each, while Inderjeet Singh, who had a 5-wicket haul on the other day, claimed one wicket.
Earlier, batting first, NCC scored a fighting total of 155 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Manish Dogra top scored with 44 runs off 46 balls, studded with 6 boundaries, while Sagar Gupta contributed 33 runs to the total. Inderjeet Singh chipped in with 14 runs. For New Challenger Club, Hardeep Singh took 2 wickets, while Sahil Sharma, Manjeet Singh and Raman Dutta claimed one wicket apiece. Hardeep Singh was adjudged man of the match.

In another match, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor defeated Lions Cricket Club Satwari by 21 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first, SCC Akhnoor scored a decent total of 163 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Deepak Sharma top scored with 45 runs, while Sunny Kumar, Chander Sharma and Binny contributed 29, 23 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For Lions Club, Sehwag took 2 wickets, while Nita and Bansi claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Lions Club managed to score 142 runs in the allotted overs by losing 7 wickets, thus lost the match by a margin of 21 runs. Ajay was the top scorer with 43 runs, while Sachin and Sehwag contributed 22 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Binny was the pick of the bowlers for Singh CC, who scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 16 runs in his 4 overs, while Sunny took wickets and Deepak one. Binny was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.

The winner of the Tournament will get a cash award of Rs 51,000 sponsored by Saraswati Agro Chemical Pvt Ltd, India.
