JAMMU, Sept 17: Formidable National Cricket Club (NCC) and star-studded Jammu Cricket Club entered into the semifinals of SCA T20 Championship, while Jammu Police wins against Media XI in an exhibition match beating them convincingly at MA Stadium, here today.
In today’s matches, Dr Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu was the chief guest, while Vijay Sharma, former Ranji Trophy player was the guest of honour.
Earlier, in the exhibition match, Jammu Police XI defeated Media XI by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Jammu Media XI scored 157 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 18 overs. Faheem Tak top scored with 55 runs, while Amit Sudan contributed valuable 50 runs to the total. Farooq took 2 wickets while Adhishwer and Anil claimed 1 wicket each.
Jammu Police Eleven, in reply achieved the target on the last ball of the match by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Farooq was the top scorer with 65 runs, while Rajesh Gill made 54 runs. Ranjeet took 2 wickets FOR Jammu Media XI, while Vivek Suri, Jaspreet and Sachin shared 1 wicket each.
Farooq was adjudged as the man of the match with a cash prize of Rs 500.
Meanwhile, NCC defeated Laxmi Cricket Club by 9 runs.
Batting first, NCC scored 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Rakesh scored 27 runs, Ankur 24 and Aditya Partap 13 runs. Aman took 3 wickets while Bharat, Dhruv, Sameer and Kulvinder claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Laxmi Club made 119 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 9 runs. Bansi Lal, Nipun and Dhruv were the main batsmen with 34, 32 and 10 runs respectively.
Sahil took 3 wickets, Vijay and Ankush took 2 wickets each, while Tanmaya claimed 1 wicket. Sahil was declared as the Man of the match with a cash prize of Rs 500.
In yet another match, JCC defeated RCC Srinagar by 51 runs.
Batting first, JCC scored 188 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Surya, Vivrant, Paras and Shubam Pundir were the main scorers with 66, 44, 36 and 31 runs respectively.
From RCC Srinagar, Praful Dhar took 2 important wickets, while Rahul Mussa claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, RCC scored 137 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, thus lost the match by 51 runs. Ahatsham was the top scorer with 66 runs, while Puneet and Musaif contributed 18 and 16 runs respectively.
Paras Sharma took 2 wickets while Viswajeet Singh, Yudhveer Singh, Deepak and Vivrant claimed 1 wicket each. Surya Mahotra was declared as the man of the match with cash prize of Rs 500-
