Navreh Premier League Season-2 inaugurated

JAMMU, Mar 6: Season-2 of Navreh Premier League was inaugurated by SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandiyal at Country Cricket Stadium Amb Gharota, here today.
The chief guest was accompanied by SHO Amb Gharota, Khyatimaan Khajuria as guest of honor.
In this tournament 10 veteran teams of Jammu are taking part and a total number of 23 matches will be played including two semi-finals and one final match.
The chief geust appreciated the organizers for starting the Cricket tournament which is great way to engage the youth. He further said that police would encourage and support such sporting events to engage local talented youth.
The first match of the tournament was played between Vitasta and JMCC.
JMCC won the toss and elected to field first. Vitasta scored 143 runs in stipulated 20 overs at the loss of nine wickets, whereas the JMCC chased the target and won the match by nine wickets.
Ashwani Sharma scored 52 runs off 35 balls. Man of the match was Rajeev Dhar who took three wickets in his four overs.
The 2nd league match was played between Friends CC and Vinayak Cricket Club (VCC) wherein Friends CC won by nine wickets. The VCC batted first and scored 107 runs, while the opponent team chased the target in 13 overs.
