REASI, Mar 2: Kings XI Akhnoor registered a narrow win by 8 runs over Lions Cricket Club Jammu to advance in the ongoing Reasi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Reasi Cricket Club at Sports Stadium,here.
Put into bat, Kings XI Akhnoor scored a decent total of 161 runs in 19.2 overs. Sunny slammed a brilliant half-century (50), while Sumit and Sonu contributed 36 and 25 runs to the total respectively. For Lions Club, Irshad was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 important wickets including a superb hat-trick, while Manjeet Singh claimed 3 wickets and Vicky two.
In reply, Lions Club, Jammu managed to score 153 runs by losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 8 runs. Vicky (33), Irshad (22) and Manjeet Singh (17) were the main contributors. Sham and Sunny bagged 2 wickets each for Kings XI Akhnoor, while Dilawar Singh claimed one. Sunny was adjudged man of the match for his fabulous all-round display.
The match was officiated by Nishu Magray and Rocky as umpires, while Kaka was the scorer. The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Nadeep Bhat, Vikas Sharma and Vikas Baru.
