SRINAGAR, July 19: HKM Government Degree College Bandipora organised one day workshop on the topic, ‘NAAC Assessment and Accreditation’, today.
The workshop was organised under the chairmanship of Prof (Dr) Yasmeen Ashaie, Coordinator Divisional NAAC Committee of Higher Education Department wherein Dr Mohd Amin Malik, Principal of co-ordinating College was the resource person of the workshop.
The workshop was attended by Principals, IQAC coordinators and faculty members of the GDC for Women, Nawakadel, GDC Pattan, GDC Khansabh, GDC Kangan, GDC Tral, GDC Kokernag, GDC Ajas and GDC Zainpora Wachi.
In his lecture, Dr Malik presented a detailed and elaborative power point presentation on the different aspects of revised NAAC accreditation process. He highlighted the importance of careful preparation of Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA), Self Studies Report (SSR), Data Verification and Validation (DVV) and Students Satisfaction Survey (SSS) besides he threw the light on Quantitative and Qualitative Metrics.
He also deliberated upon the seven criteria of SSR and emphasized on upgrading the academic standards like teaching-learning, research, innovation, formation of dynamic Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Students Councils, NCC and NSS units, Alumni among other committees of the College.
Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Sushma Chauhan also joined the workshop. She appreciated the efforts of the coordinating College and the Divisional NAAC Committee for organising this workshop. She also directed the Principals to gear up for NAAC accreditation of their institutions.
Dr Yasmeen Ashai, Nodal Principal for Kashmir Division College appreciated the resource person for a detailed presentation on each and every aspect of NAAC process, whereas the welcome address was presented by Dr Gulam Hassan Dar, Department of Biochemistry, followed by brief introductory note by Prof Manzoor A Parray, Department of Education of the College.
