JAMMU, Jan 23: Magnificent half-centuries by Musaif Ajaz and skipper Vivrant Sharma powered Jammu and Kashmir to 7-wicket victory over Tripura in the ongoing CK Nayudu Under-23 Trophy at Country Cricket Stadium, Gharota, near here.
Needing 168 runs to win, J&K chased the target in 38.1 overs by losing 3 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Musaif, who made brilliant 92 runs in the first innings, scored unbeaten 76 runs in the second innings, studded with 8 fours and 3 sixes, while Vivrant contributed 58 runs of 75 balls with 8 fours and one six.
Earlier, resuming from overnight score of 45/3, Tripura scored 236 runs to set a target of 168 runs for the hosts. Imtiyaz Ahmed Ganai was the pick of the bowlers from J&K, who took 4 important wickets, while Lone Nasir Muzaffar claimed 3 wickets.
