Murray appoints Mauresmo as new coach

Undated, June 8:
Andy Murray has appointed former women’s number one Amelie Mauresmo as his new coach, the Wimbledon champion said today.
Mauresmo, currently France’s Fed Cup captain, will initially take up the role for the grasscourt season.    The 34-year-old Mauresmo retired as a player in 2009, having won two grand slam singles titles, and has since gone on to coach Michael Llodra and Victoria Azarenka, while also guiding Marion Bartoli to her first major title at Wimbledon last year.
Murray, who has been without a coach since parting company with Ivan Lendl in March, will join forces with Mauresmo for the first time at the Aegon Championships at Queen’s Club next week where he will be hope to defend his title. (Agencies)
