JAMMU, Apr 18: In an initiative by White Knight Corps, a National Integration Tour of Mumbai students from classes 6th to 9th visited the Crossed Swords Division, today.
The students were given an exposure to the life in the Army and given an equipment display alongwith tank ride and Army dog show was organised for them.
The group comprising of 56 boys and 31 girls of twelve schools alongwith their school staff were taken to forward locations along the Line of Control and were given a firsthand experience of a soldier’s life at border areas.
The tour was successful in shaping the hearts and minds of the young students. A mesmerizing orientation to the forward area was followed by an interactive session with officers and troops. The exposure provided an opportunity for the students to learn about the rich ethos of the Indian Army and the hardships faced by the soldiers in safeguarding our nation. Their confident, beaming and happy faces are a testimony to the fact that the students have immensely benefited from the exposure which will have an everlasting impression on their minds.
Students were thrilled by the spectacular view of Line of Control and the accounts of unmatchable heroics from the past wars.
