JAMMU, Nov 9: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER organised “Meet Our Alumni” Programme in order to make the students and faculty acquainted with the Alumni of the school, here today.
The institution has produced over 7500 Alumni over the past 77 years.
In a first interaction of this kind, Dr Seema Rohmetra, Sr Assistant Professor of The Law School, University of Jammu was that Distinguished Alumni on this occasion. Dr Adit Gupta Joint Director MIER, Rupa Gupta, Dr Chitra Mishra, Principal and Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal were also present during the interaction session. The faculty members and students of classes 9th to 12th of the school also attended the function.
Dr Adit Gupta introduced the distinguished alumni and read out her achievements. He described her as an all rounder who not only accomplished academic excellence in various examinations but also actively participated in various co-curricular activities.
“She was one of the favourite students of all the teachers and was a member of various school teams such as the debating and quiz teams etc. She also achieved excellence in her higher education by bagging the 1st position and gold medal in the B A and M A Political Science examinations”, Dr Gupta said.
He also narrated fond memories of Dr Rohmetra participating in the annual day events of the school.
Dr Seema Rohmetra in her address thanked the school management for giving her an opportunity to come back to her alma mater and for interacting with the students. She recalled her school days and remembered her teachers whose contribution had been immense in her life. She also talked about the importance of school in the life of the children and considered it to be their second home. She described the values that the school had instilled in her which helped her achieve excellence in life.
Dr Rohmetra also expanded the acronym for the word School i.e- Sacred, Character Development, Honour, Organisation, Orderly Life and Lessons Learnt which was greatly appreciated by everyone.
She later interacted with the students who asked many questions regarding her experiences in the school. She was also presented a memento as a token of appreciation by Dr Adit Gupta.
