JAMMU, Sept 15 :The Investiture Ceremony of Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER for the academic session 2016-17 was held today in a special ceremony at the school premises.
The event was presided over by the Joint Director, Dr Adit Gupta, Rupa Gupta, Management Representative, Principal, Pramod Srivastava, Vice Principal, Usha Gadoo and Manjari Sehgal, Academic Manager.
The theme of the ceremony this year was ‘To Shine’ which reflects the desire of the student council to excel and shine as leaders with vision. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and gusto. Aamna of class-10th anchored the programme while Ameena of class-12th delivered the welcome address. The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp along with singing of divine ‘Shlokas’. This was followed by unfurling of school flag by the chief guest. The school choir group presented an energetic and motivational song on the occasion.
The newly elected student council members were adorned with sashes and badges by the chief guest. They were administered the oath by the Principal and they pledged to be true to their posts and disburse their duties pro-actively and diligently while solemnly acknowledging the need to uphold the school motto of ‘Shrestha’ i.e. ‘Excellence’ in high esteem.
The highlight of the event was display of an audio message by the former Head Boy and Head Girl of the school who shared their experiences in their respective positions during their tenure in the school.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Adit Gupta emphasized on the importance of honesty, integrity and loyalty as vital qualities for positions of dignity.
The MIER chairman in his message shared wonderful insights on how to become a good leader. He said, “To be a leader you must first be a follower. Good followers are the ones who later become good leaders”.
The Investiture ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Rubina of class 12th. The ceremony ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.
