Model Academy conducts workshop on Professional Development of teachers

JAMMU, July 17: A three days workshop on ‘Professional Development and Capacity Building of Teachers’ was conducted at Model Academy, here.
Prof (Dr) B L Handoo and Dr Subash Arora from Indira Educational Consultancy Services, Noida were the resource persons for the workshop.
In his welcome address, Dr. Adit Gupta highlighted the achievements of Dr. Handoo and Dr. Arora both of whom, he said have vast experience in the field of education, teaching, training, mentoring, innovating and advising managements for over 40 years.
Rupa Gupta, Management Representative, Ruchika Gupta, Project Director Humming Buds and Usha Gadoo, officiating Principal also attended the workshop.
In his message Dr. Arun K Gupta, Chairman MIER said that to promote optimum learning, CBSE curriculum provides teachers the tools needed to engage, mentor and motivate the students.
Effective teaching strategies, CCE and CBSE initiatives and mode of assessment and drafting of test items were the focus areas of the workshop. Dr. Handoo enunciated certain effective teaching tips and principles necessary for designing superior learning environment.
The second day of the workshop laid emphasis on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation wherein the meaning and features of Formative and Summative Assessments was discussed.
