LEH, June 1: A mini marathon was organised by Trishul Division for the age group 10 -17 for both boys and girls with the theme of ‘Catch Them Young’ at Chumathang village in Ladakh as a part of ‘Global Running Day’ , here today.
More than 70 children participated in the marathon and successfully completed the 5 kilometres run. The participants were awarded with t-shirts, caps, medals and certificates, while winners were identified from each category and were suitably awarded.
The initiative was possible due to the vision and the hard work put in by the Trishul Division with the help of Motup, Padma Shree and his team.
As part of the initiative, few more mini marathons are planned in the upcoming months at other locations like Tangste and Karu, said organisers of the event.
